Background:
Gargoyle first made his appearance in the AIWF in early 1999.  He introduced himself to the world sitting atop a pile of garbage in a trash bin, sharing a meal of old pizza with a rat.  The rat turned out to be his manager, Ritz, who would in time get almost as big a fan following as Gargoyle.  Gargoyle quickly became known for his outlandish interview style and choice of locations.

Gargoyle started out feuding with the mid-tier wrestlers of the AIWF but soon caught on with the fans and the Front Office thanks to his crazy stunts and his disregard for his own safety.  Within 2 months of debuting in the AIWF, Gargoyle became the United States Champion, which was funny really since he stated from the get-go that he was only interested in the Hardcore Championship.  The man Gargoyle beat would go on to be a major thorn in his side - Loco, the leader of the Outlawz.

It was during his feud with Loco, that Gargoyle met the man who would go on to be his toughest opponent and his best friend - Mad Dragon.  Gargoyle and the Outlawz - Loco, Mad Dragon, Bull and Big Nol - engaged in many fierce battles until they finally got him with the ultimate swerve.  Mad Dragon had appeared to have a falling out with the Outlawz and so Gargoyle came to his "rescue".  Dragon, though, had other thoughts... during a tag match against his former stablemates, Dragon turned on Gargoyle and gang-punked him in front of the fans, the crew and Gargoyle's wife, Amanda Payne -  a former Ladies Champion in the HWF.

Gargoyle then spent the rest of his time in the trying to revenge the evil deeds.  In a way this succeeded, but not with the flair he had hoped.  Gargoyle finally got Dragon to come to terms with him and their mutual respect turned into friendship.  The night this was revealed to the world, it was overshadowed by the sudden closing of the AIWF.  Both men came to the IHWA together as a team and set the fed on it ear, with both of them reaching the final round of the inaugural tournament to crown the 1st ever IHWA World Heavyweight Champion!  Dragon won this encounter, but would later go on to loose the belt to Gargoyle.

As this was going on, a strange twist came into the mix.  Dragon's friend Cobra was brought into the fold and Gargoyle was pushed out... or at least felt that he was.  This rocked Gargoyle's world and was the catalyst to a strange series of events that would see Gargoyle split into two separate personalities.

Gargoyle joined forces with a man who he felt had tremendous potential but was still green - The Wolf.  Gargoyle and Wolf had put on some tremendous hardcore style matches, trading the Hardcore Championship back and forth.  Gargoyle then decided that he needed a change and asked Wolf and Extreme, and later Angel, to form the Outcasts with him.  Once again fate stepped in as the Outcasts were formed to kick ass and not win belts, but at one point held ALL of the IHWA belts.  This was not meant to last as Angel was booted out and Extreme turned his back on the remaining members.  Gargoyle suddenly couldn't handle the stress and exposed Ian Payne as the man beneath the mask.

Ian and Gargoyle suddenly became two different people, with Ian doing all the face work and Garg's doing the heel duties as they were required.  This looked like it would work until his wife Amanda started hanging with their friend Blue Tornado.  Gargoyle got extremely jealous at this and ended up loosing his relationship AND his job.  Gargoyle was suspended for 30 days for trying to kill Tornado, Amanda filed a restraining order and Ian was out on the street.

After Wildebeast was screwed out of Looser Leave Fed match with the perennial jobber Zach "Smooth as Ice" Zamboni, Ian brought back the Demented One to clean up the IHWA.  Now fighting side by side with Mad Dragon, Jason Perry and Red Leaf Express as Destruction Inc., they trying to clean up the fed of the rash of filth that has recently invaded it!

To all those with evil intentions, beware, there is pain in your future.
